Reason behind the name

The name has always appealed to me, and it can mean ‘a body of works’, usually literary, or one’s life’s works and this resonated as I step into this venture at this stage of my career.

What does it stand for?

OPUS has a literal meaning, but for me the initials jumped out and related to how I support individuals and organisations: Identifying Opportunity and realising Potential / Possibilities, Unlocking / Unleashing talent and working towards Success. (or other use of acronym)

Who is the founder of OPUS

Meet Clare

A passionate believer in individual potential. The majority of my career to date has been spent in a learning and development environment, primarily in the people-focused hospitality industry, where colleague and guest engagement is of prime importance. I have worked in some of the most luxurious hotels in the UK and Europe, and it has validated the fact that it is people that make the difference – and that people engagement and development are inextricably linked to the quality out puts of organisational success.

My early career started at the Hotel School in Singapore, and hospitality remains part of my make-up. As I continued to work in various Human Resources roles within hotels, it became clear that training, learning and development was my strength and continuing professional development programmes in the organisations with whom I have had the fortune to work have supported me in this direction. My work, both being employed within in a company environment and as a freelance consultant, has allowed me to design, deliver and evaluate interventions to support individual and group learning as well as build a development strategy to support business growth with people at its core. Throughout my career, I have continued to hone my skills to provide a relevant and current service to my clients, including being licensed to deliver Train the Trainer Certification and Management First programmes with People First International accreditation.

My home is in Surrey, where I am a proud mum of two adult children who remain my greatest passion. My coaching skills were not always confined to a work environment – for many years I taught Judo and was a British Judo Association club coach.

I am qualified as an ILM Level 7 Executive Coach and Mentor, and coaching is an integral part of my practice.
I am an EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council) Accredited Coach at Senior Practitioner level and as such support and adhere to their code of ethics. www.emccuk.org.
I am also a Licensed Practitioner for Insights Discovery and lead with green energy!
